One person injured in rollover on Interstate 84 near Meridian

September 24, 2013

One vehicle rolled on eastbound I-84 past Ten Mile Road. Police are on scene now.

A teenage girl from Meridian was hurt Tuesday in an accident on Interstate 84 near the Ten Mile Road exit.

Idaho State Police said Erika Shelly was eastbound on I-84 at around 12:37 p.m. when she tried to change lanes. When she attempted to enter the lane, she saw a vehicle in that lave rapidly approaching from behind.

Shelly veered left and lost control, police said, going off the right shoulder and hitting a barrier. The vehicle rolled once and landed on its tires in travel lanes. Two of the four eastbound lanes of I-84 were shut down for about an hour.

Shelly was taken to Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise. The extent of her injuries was unknown.
