Gordmans, a Nebraska-based department store chain, plans to open a store in southeast Boise — its third in the Treasure Valley.

Gordmans will open in the Southshore Shopping Center, at the southeast corner of Apple Street and Parkcenter Boulevard, in a space that once housed a K-Mart store, a part-owner of the shopping center said.

Pine Tree Commercial Realty LLC of Northbrook, Ill., said Gordmans Inc. will occupy 50,505 square feet. The store is expected to opening next spring.

Gordmans will be the anchor tenant in the redevelopment of the former K-Mart building.

“Gordmans will complement the existing merchants and bring valuable new customers to the shopping center,” said Tim Roe, Pine Tree's senior director of leasing.

Gordmans opened a store last year at Eagle Road and Fairview Avenue in Meridian. It also operates a store at 16740 N. Marketplace Blvd. in Nampa.

The Boise shopping center is owned by Pine Tree-Inland Development I LLC, a joint venture between Inland Real Estate Corp. of Oak Brook, Ill. and Pine Tree Institutional Realty LLC, an affiliate of Pine Tree Commercial Realty. Mark Bottles and Mike Erkmann of Mark Bottles Real Estate Services in Boise represented the landlord.
