Boise State newcomer leads home men’s golf tournament

— Junior Ty Travis fired rounds of 67 and 68 on Monday, the opening day of the Dash Thomas Memorial at BanBury Golf Course, and leads the Broncos’ only home tournament of the season.

Travis, a Weber State transfer from Eagle High, enters Tuesday’s final 18 holes with a 7-under 135 and a one-stroke lead over Idaho’s Rylee Iacolucci.

Sacramento State (566) leads the team race, followed by Utah State (570) and Idaho (572). The Broncos are 12th at 596.

The final round begins with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m.
