Idaho colleges roundup: Boise State women hosting tennis tourney this weekend

BOISE - The Boise State Jack Taylor Classic is the Broncos' lone home tournament of the fall semester. The three-day event begins Friday and features 11 teams from throughout the West, including Idaho and Idaho State. The tournament is split into three flights, with matches at Appleton Tennis Center, Julia Davis Park and Timberline High. Play begins at 9 a.m. Friday at all three sites.

IDAHO VOLLEYBALL: Washington State defeated the Vandals 25-22, 25-20, 25-17 in Pullman, Wash. Jessica Hastriter led Idaho (6-5) with 13 kills.

NORTHWEST NAZARENE MEN'S SOCCER: Western Washington scored with less than 3 minutes remaining to edge the Crusaders 2-1 in Nampa. Fredy Razo scored the lone goal for NNU (0-2-2).

NNU WOMEN'S SOCCER: Western Washington defeated the Crusaders 3-0 in Nampa. NNU fell to 1-3.

NNU VOLLEYBALL; The Crusaders defeated Saint Martin's 25-20, 25-12, 18-25, 25-21 in Lacey, Wash. It was the Great Northwest Athletic Conference opener for NNU (5-2, 1-0), which has won four consecutive matches.
