3 p.m. Sept. 22, Morrison Center, 2201 Cesar Chavez Lane, Boise. Free.

Velma V. Morrison, one of Boise’s most generous arts benefactresses, died in June. You can celebrate her life and love of music, theater and Boise at a special event produced by the Morrison Center — Idaho’s largest proscenium theater, which she helped build.

You’ll hear guest speakers remember Velma and a performance by the Boise Philharmonic with Tony Award-winning Broadway star Brian Stokes Mitchell.
