Mountain Home woman in stable condition after shooting

September 17, 2013

A Mountain Home woman who was shot in the chest early Sunday morning was in stable condition at a Boise hospital Tuesday morning.

Police say the woman, whose name has not been released, was shot by her husband during an argument. Officers responding to a report of shots fired arrested Matthew R. Lindstrom of Mountain Home.

The couple was arguing and involved in an altercation when the .45-caliber gun went off, police said.

Lindstrom, 29, has been charged with aggravated battery. He was arraigned in court Monday, and is free on a $50,000 bond, according to the Elmore County Prosecutor’s Office. The judge ordered Lindstrom to have no contact with his wife.

The prosecutor declined to say whether the shooting was believed to be intentional. A hearing is set for 1 p.m. Sept. 20.
