Motorcyclist critically injured in Idaho 44 crash

— Charlie Brown, 55, of Boise was headed east through a construction zone and passing vehicles when he ran head-on into a 1994 Ford F-150 pickup driven by Allan Rife, 53, of Caldwell at about 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, according to the Idaho State Police.

Police said Brown, who was riding a 2001 Indian Scout motorcycle, was not wearing a helmet. He was taken by ambulance to St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise. He was listed this morning in critical condition, a hospital spokeswoman said.

Rife was not injured, police said.
