Check out these dates for hunting seasons

They are for Southwest Idaho. Hang this on your fridge, and double check rules booklets for other areas.


Dove - Currently open through Sept. 30.

Forest grouse - Currently open through Dec. 31.

Quail - Sept. 21 - Jan. 31.

Chukar and gray partridge - Sept. 21 - Jan. 31.

Sage grouse - Sept. 21 - 27 (check which areas are open).

Duck and goose - Oct. 12 - Jan. 24.

Pheasant - Oct. 19 - Dec. 31.


Deer (general, any weapon) - Oct. 10 (most of Southwest Idaho) with varying closing dates.

Elk - Opening dates vary throughout October and November.

Bear - Open through Oct. 31 in several hunting units. Others have various closing dates.
