A 33-year-old Meridian woman was in the Canyon County jail Friday night and charged with felony DUI, aggravated battery and obstruct and delay after Nampa police say she got kicked out of the Idaho Center and dragged an officer with her vehicle.

Police said Andrea L. Harris trespassed at an event at the Idaho Center Thursday night and was booted from the place.

That's when police said Harris got into a vehicle and tried to drive out of the parking lot. A Nampa officer who was on foot stopped Harris and told her to turn the vehicle off. The officer tried to get Harris out of the car after she refused to comply.

Harris then took off with the officer hanging from the vehicle, dragging him for about 40 yards before he was able to get away, police said.

After another officer stopped Harris, police said she tested more than double the legal limit for breath alcohol content.

Police said Harris has had two previous DUI charges in the last 10 years.

The officer who was dragged was treated at a local hospital for minor injuries and was released.
