Big Gigantic is coming to the Knitting Factory on Sept. 11.

    8 p.m. Sept. 11, Knitting Factory, 416 S. 9th St., Boise. $18. TicketWeb. $22 day of show. Opening: Ill-Esha.

Seeing someone play musical instruments is more exciting than seeing them push buttons. That’s one of the main reasons that Boulder, Colo., duo Big Gigantic has earned a following so quickly on the EDM scene.

Dominic Lalli plays saxophone and keys while handling typical EDM producer/DJ duties. Jeremy Salke smacks actual drums. Magically, Big Gigantic generates a modern dance sound that’s as organic as it is electronic, traversing genres ranging from soulful funk to house, dubstep and beyond.
