Grunge, anyone? Early ’90s rock is the main flavor at X-Fest, aka the touring Uproar Festival headlined by Alice in Chains and Jane’s Addiction.

That said, organizers diversified the lineup by including bands such as prog-rockers Coheed and Cambria, Philly band Circa Survive and the late addition of Sick Puppies (an Australian group formed in 1997).

With three stages and a bunch of acts, it’s the sort of event that tries to pull from a variety of fan bases.

Note: Be sure to say hello to drummer Sean Stockham of Sacramento, Calif., band Middle Class Rut. He moved to Meridian about a year ago.
