PREP FOOTBALL PREVIEW: Trio of Division I defenders hope to change the game

Statesman staffAugust 29, 2013

Timberline's Don Hill, Borah's Hawkins Mann and Rocky Mountain's Khalil Oliver are three of the Treasure Valley's top high school football players, and all three have committed to one side of Saturday night's college showdown in Seattle. They also don't play the traditional glamour spots of the sport — they're all about tackling the guys who do.

Mann, a defensive lineman, and Oliver, a safety, plan to be in blue and orange next year at Boise State. Hill, a former safety who now is one of the 5A Southern Idaho Conference's premier defensive ends, is a Washington commit. Each is built to play defense and expected to lead his current team to prominence in 2013.

Read more about all three players in Friday's section. Read the rest of the 32-page preview for players to watch, schedules, facts and overviews for all 19 5A and 4A SIC teams, as well as small-school players to watch and team schedules.
