Steelheads sign defenseman with NHL experience

— Carl Sneep, 25, was a part of two national championship teams at Boston College (2008, 2010) before turning pro.

He was selected in the second round of the NHL Draft by Pittsburgh and made his NHL debut in December 2011, picking up an assist on an Evgeni Malkin goal in a victory over Buffalo.

Sneep has played in 163 professional games, 133 of them at the AHL level. He split last season between Texas and Peoria.
