Unofficial results: Middleton school trustee race settled, Parma voters approve levy

Unofficial results Tuesday night from a Canyon County schools consolidated election brought resolution to an infamous tiebreaker in Middleton.

In a race for zone 2 trustee seat in May, Marc Gunning, ended up in a stalemate with Steve Cluff - at 101 votes apiece - before officials found errors with a number of the votes. According to Canyon County Chief Deputy Clerk Brad Jackson, 23 voters were given the wrong ballots and cast votes in the wrong zone.

In Tuesday's repeat of the zone 2 contest, Gunning received 124 votes, or 69.66 percent, to Cluff's 54 votes, or 30.34 percent.

A third challenger, Brian Fendley, didn't fetch any votes.

In Parma, voters overwhelmingly approved a 10-year, $2.5 million facilities levy. There were 189 people - 79.41 percent - who cast ballots in favor of the levy. Only 49 voters- 20.59 percent - opposed it.
