Is Snoop Dogg a Boise State fan?

This July 30, 2012, photo shows Snoop Dogg, who now goes by Snoop Lion, posing for a portrait at Miss Lily's in New York. Snoop Dogg says he was "born again" during a visit to Jamaica in February, changed his name to Snoop Lion and is ready to make music that his "kids and grandparents can listen to" The artist known for gangster rap is releasing a reggae album called "Reincarnated" in the fall.

Snoop Dogg, aka Snoop Lion, in Boise for a performance Monday night at the Revolution Center in Garden City, apparently did some shopping during his stop in the Treasure Valley.

Snoop posted a photo on Instagram of him with a couple of Boise State football jerseys and pairs of socks.

His caption: "Show gear !! Idaho ya digg"

Boise State opens its season Saturday at Washington. Snoop, from California, is an avid sports fan, though his college football team of choice traditionally has been USC. Considering Washington is a Pac-12 rival of the Trojans, perhaps there was more than one more reason for Snoop to be a Boise State fan this week.
