KEIZER, Ore. — Kevin Encarnacion became the first Boise player with a five-hit game in three years, and the Hawks beat Salem-Keizer 8-1 for their first-ever sweep at Volcanoes Stadium.

Encarnacion was 5-for-5 with a solo home run, an RBI double and three runs. Dustin Harrington had the Hawks’ last five-hit game on Sept. 1, 2010.

Justin Marra hit a three-run shot, his third homer in two days, as Boise built a 5-0 lead in the first inning.

Paul Blackburn (2-3) and two relievers combined for nine walks, but they surrendered just four hits.

Boise visits Hillsboro for a three-game set starting Saturday night. The Hawks are 4-4 on the current 11-game road trip.
