Eagle Terrain Park goes before city council Tuesday

csewell@idahostatesman.comAugust 23, 2013

The Eagle City Council on Tuesday will consider a proposal to build a seven-acre terrain park within the city's 200-acre Eagle Sports Complex off Horseshoe Bend Road.

The Eagle Terrain Park would include snow tubing hills and terrain areas for skiing and snowboarding. The proposal also includes construction of a one-acre multipurpose reservoir to provide a cable wakeboard park, water for snowmaking and fire suppression.

Under the proposal, the city would enter an agreement with a private company, which would build and operate the park. The city would get a percentage of lift ticket sales.

All existing areas of the park, including the Foothills trails, skate park and BMX tracks would remain open and free to the public.

The city parks department will hold an open house on the project from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 24, at City Hall, 660 E. Civic Lane.

Additional information also is available via the city's website.

Tuesday's city council meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall.
