Boise Philharmonic's Picnic at the Pops

  • SAT

8 p.m. Aug. 24. Gates open at 6:30 p.m., Woodriver Cellars, 3705 Idaho 16, Eagle. $20 lawn, $35 chairs, $5 children 12 and younger. Discounts for groups of 10 or more and table seating are available. 344-7849 and BoisePhilharmonic.org.

Explore the cosmos through music at the Boise Philharmonic’s Picnic at the Pops this weekend as the orchestra ventures into “Space” under the Idaho night sky. You’ll hear selections from your favorite sci-fi franchises — “Star Trek,” “Star Wars” — and films such as “E.T.” — plus selections from Holtz, Strauss and Brahms. Bring your own picnic — no glass or alcohol — or buy food on-site. You’ll also be able to purchase the Boise Philharmonic’s special label wines bottled by Woodriver Cellars — including “May the Chard Be With You” Chardonnay — as well as local brews.
