Canyon County Pet of the Week: Virginia the collie mix

August 20, 2013

Virginia, 5, is equal parts corgi and border collie, with traits to match. She is active, and will need a family that can provide her with consistent physical and mental stimulation to keep her herding-breed mind and body at its best. She gets along well with most dogs, although a meet and greet is recommended. It is unknown how she is with cats. Virginia appears to be house-trained. Virginia would do best with a family that is familiar with herding breeds and due to her rambunctious side, we recommend children over 12 years old. Virginia is spayed, microchipped and current on all vaccines.

Virginia is in kennel number 1 at the Canyon County Animal Shelter at 5801 Graye Lane in Caldwell. The hours of operation are 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Sunday. For more information on our other adoptable pets, visit www.canyoncountyshelter.org.
