11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Aug. 17, with parade registration at 10 a.m., Ann Morrison Park, 1000 Americana Blvd., Boise. Free, $5 suggested donation for parade registration, available at boisebicycleproject.org. Online: newbelgium.com.

Cyclists and beer enthusiasts will unite for a day of fun at this weekend’s annual Tour de Fat at Ann Morrison Park in Boise.

The event, sponsored by New Belgium Brewery in Fort Collins, Colo., will feature a huge, goofy bike parade that starts rolling at 11 a.m, plus a big party afterward with 10 flavors of beer, contests and live performances from Honeymoon Cabaret (12:30 p.m), Fierce Bad Rabbit (1:30 p.m.), Yo-Yo People (2:40 p.m.) and DeVotchKa (4 p.m.).

It’s all a benefit for the Southwest Idaho Mountain Biking Association, Treasure Valley Cycling Alliance and Boise Bike Project, so there’s really no excuse not to partake.
