The Idaho and U.S. Departments of Labor are joining forces with veterans and economic development groups to sponsor a special job fair for veterans at the Idaho Center in Nampa in September.
The Hero 2 Hired job fair, now in its third year, will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 12. It is open to active duty military, veterans, military spouses and members of the National Guard and Reserve.
In addition to area employers who are hiring or will be hiring in the near future, the job fair will feature labor department veterans representatives and consultants holding workshops on topics including business basics and finding a career in the energy industry.
Participants are asked to preregister online at labor.idaho.gov/idahoevents/register.aspx?e=166 to guarantee admission. Employers who want to participate in the fair will find information online at http://labor.idaho.gov/idahoevents/register.aspx?e=167.
Participating employers are advised to come to the fair with specific job descriptions applications and be prepared to accept résumés and conduct interviews.
The Hero 2 Hired job fair is sponsored by the Boise Metro Chamber of Commerce, the Idaho Department of Labor, the U.S. Department of Labor, Employer Support for the Guard and Reserve, the Idaho Center and KTVB-TV.
