Assailants in Eagle skate park attack face prison terms

August 9, 2013

— Four people involved in the February beating of a man at an Eagle skate park have pleaded guilty to battery or assault charges resulting from the attack.

Kayleena A. Eubanks, Patrick C. Brown and Kenneth E. Bowers pleaded guilty last month to aggravated battery. Joshua J. Schwacofer pleaded guilty to aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

The victim was accosted at a party on Taft Street in Boise on Feb. 21 and told he needed to repay a debt. When he said he didn't have all the money he owed, the man was told to take a ride with the four defendants.

He was taken to a parking lot in the 3100 block of East Greenbrook Street in Eagle and beaten. The victim said one of the men struck him in the head and other parts of his body more than a dozen times with a baseball bat.

The assailants took the man's backpack, which contained nearly $500 in cash, and his clothes, leaving him naked in the parking lot. The man was treated that night at a hospital and released. Police later recovered the bat, the backpack and the man's clothes.

Eubanks, Brown and Bowers face up to five years in prison when they're sentenced by Fourth District Ada County Judge Deborah Bail on Aug. 28 and 29. Schwacofer faces up to 15 years in prison. He will appear before Bail on Sept. 9.
