Children join forces to win a tug of war against deputies from the Ada County Sheriff's Office during a neighborhood party Tuesday celebrating National Night Out.

Residents in the Hillsdale Park neighborhood north of Star gathered with firemen and other law-enforcement representatives.

The Treasure Valley was well represented for the annual night as more than 60 parties were held in Boise, Meridian and Nampa.

The goal: strengthen community bonds.

By the looks on the faces of the kids in the tug of war, that goal was achieved.
