Boise man arrested on lewd conduct charges

Lathan Spencer Flake

— Lathan Spencer Flake, 39, was arrested Monday and accused of having sex with at least six teenage girls over a 10-year period beginning in 1998.

A Meridian woman in her mid-20s contacted the Meridian Police Department on Thursday, telling officers Flake had illegal sexual contact with her in 1999 at a Kuna-area home. The woman was underage at the time of the sexual contact.

Detectives learned that Flake allegedly had illegal sexual contact with at least five other teenage girls through 2008. Investigators finished interviewing subjects in the case on Monday evening and had the Boise Police Department arrest Flake at his office.

Flake admitted he had illegal sexual contact with some of the teens, according to a release from the Ada County Sheriff's Office. He was charged with two felony counts of lewd conduct.

If convicted, Flake could face up to life in prison. There is no statute of limitation for the charge of lewd conduct.

He was scheduled for a first appearance this afternoon in Ada County Fourth District Court.

The investigation into Flake's actions is continuing.
