Nampa police investigate attempted holdup of a Pizza Hut

Nampa police are seeking the public's help to locate a suspect in an attempted robbery of a Pizza Hut restaurant on Sunday night.

Police said a male demanding money used a knife to threaten employees and bystanders at about 11:50 p.m. at the restaurant, located in the 00 block of Caldwell Boulevard. There was a brief struggle with one of the bystanders, then the suspect fled on foot.

No one was hurt, and no money was taken, police said.

The suspect is described as a white male, 5 feet 9 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall and wearing a dark blue, long-sleeved shirt and blue pants. Het had on a black shirt over his head and a blue bandana over his face and had on sunglasses during the robbery attempt. The shirt and bandana were discarded during the struggle with the bystander.

Police ask anyone has any information about the robbery attempt or saw someone matching the suspect's description to call the Property Crimes Division at 468-5680. People can make anonymous tips to Crimestoppers at 343-COPS (2677).
