Man robs home in Nampa, startles resident

Nampa police are seeking the public's help to identify a person of interest in a home robbery.

Police said a man entered a home in the 200 block of East Maine Loop just past 1:04 a.m. Sunday. As the man was removing property from the home, he startled the 78-year-old female resident.

As the woman was activating a medical alert system to notify authorities, police said there was a brief struggle. The woman suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene later.

After the struggle, the suspect fled the scene, and the property was located outside the residence.

The male is described as a Hispanic male with a thin face, between 25 and 30 years old and weighing between 150 and 180 pounds, He is 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall and was wearing pants and possibly a red-and-white short-sleeved shirt. He was last seen running toward Constitution Avenue.

Police ask anyone has any information regarding this crime or saw someone matching the description to call the Property Crimes Division at 468-5680. Callers wishing to remain anonymous can call Crimestoppers at 343-COPS (2677).
