VIDEO: 'Breaking Bad' star, Emmett native greets fans at L.A. home

August 1, 2013

'Breaking Bad' star Aaron Paul was taped recently speaking to an Irish family that found the Emmett native and Centennial High School in Meridian graduate at home in Los Angeles. In just a few days, the video has been viewed more than 2.3 million times, according to the Independent newspaper from Ireland.

Paul, 33, whose given name is Aaron Sturtevant, was born in Emmett and grew up in Meridian. His dad, Bob, is a Baptist minister.

Paul, who plays Jesse Pinkman in the acclaimed AMC series, has won two Primetime Emmy Awards for outstanding supporting actor in a drama series.

He has a reputation as an everyday guy who hasn't let fame go to his head. His ease in talking with the tourists and posing with them for a photo proves that.

Tourist Paul McNieve was riding around Los Angeles with his daughters in a Hollywood tour van when they spotted the television actor outside his home and called to him.

"We've come all the way from Ireland to see you," McNieve shouted to Paul on his balcony. He walked down the steps of his home to greet the family.

Paul told the family he often spots the tourist vans and comes down to say hello.
