Boise will see a drop in temperatures and a possibility of rain at this week comes to a close. Thursday's high will reach only 88 degrees, with a 20 percent chance of thunderstorms. The likelihood of moisture will increase Thursday night, with a 30 percent chance of showers and storms.
Meteorologists with the National Weather Service said the rain should be finished by midnight. Friday will be clear and cooler, with a daytime high of just 81 degrees.
Sunny skies Saturday will help the daytime high climb back into the upper 80s, and Sunday will launch the Treasure Valley into hotter weather again, with a high of 92 degrees. The weekend is slated to be warm and cloudless, with light winds.
The cooler start to August is certainly a change of pace from July, which made its mark in the record books with 30 days of high temperatures of 90 degrees and higher.
