Caldwell couple arrested after police say they led them on chase

A Caldwell couple police said had children in the car and led authorities on a vehicle pursuit Tuesday afternoon were arrested and taken to the Canyon County Jail.

Marco Sedano, 23, faces three misdemeanor counts of injury to a child, a felony eluding charge and three counts of driving without privileges. Cynthia Serrano, 25, faces three misdemeanor counts of injury to a child, a felony aiding and abetting eluding charge. Both also have outstanding arrest warrants.

Here's what Caldwell police said happened:

• A Caldwell officer saw Sedano at about 3;39 p.m. and knew he had outstanding arrest warrants and a suspended driver’s license.

• Sedano fled in a vehicle after the officer tried to stop him.

• A pursuit ensued, with Sedano leading officers from the downtown Caldwell area through a neighborhood south and west of West Valley Medical Center. Sedano ran several stop signs and drove erratically as he fled.

• Sedano surrendered in the 400 block of west Ash Street.

• Serrano, the front-seat passenger was determined to also have outstanding arrest warrants. She also encouraged Sedano to flee, police said.

• Sedano's children, ages 2 months, 2 years, and 8 years old, were in the back seat. They were released to a family member.
