Coroner: Woman found in canal had seizure, fell into water

July 30, 2013

— A woman whose body was found in an irrigation canal near Parma suffered a fatal seizure and slipped into the water, the Canyon County coroner said.

Deputies from the Canyon County Sheriff’s Office found Patsy Sue Padilla, 52, at about 8 a.m. Sunday.

Padilla did not drown, the coroner said, citing the seizure as the cause of death. There was no water found in the woman’s lungs during an autopsy.

The coroner said that Padilla was likely alone when she had the seizure. Deputies ruled out foul play when the body was found.
