Police: Caldwell man arrested after sex with teen at house party

July 30, 2013

— A Caldwell man was arrested Sunday morning after having sex with a 14-year-old girl, police said.

Nathan Edward Callow, 18, is facing a felony lewd conduct charge.

Ada County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Patrick Orr said the Kuna girl told her parents she was sleeping over at a friend’s house, but she went to a house party instead. When the girl’s parents discovered she was not at the friend’s home, they began searching for her and called police.

The girl eventually was found at an Atherton Avenue home with Callow. Police said they determined Callow had illegal sexual contact with the teen and had given her alcohol at the party. Two other girls younger than 16 and four males between 17 and 19 also were in the home. Many of them had been drinking, Orr said.

Callow was arrested and charged with lewd conduct with a minor, providing alcohol to a minor, and possession of alcohol. Both alcohol charges are misdemeanors.

He was booked into the Ada County Jail on Sunday. If convicted of lewd conduct, Callow could face up to life in prison and be required to register as a sex offender.

Police said charges could be filed against at least one other person at the party.
