Boise police investigate car vs. bus crash

July 29, 2013

Boise Police Department spokeswoman Lynn Hightower said Tuesday morning that no one has been cited in a head-on crash between a car and a city bus Monday night.

The wreck occurred at the intersection of South Vista Avenue and Cherry Lane. Witnesses told police that a Dodge sedan was northbound on Vista and veered into oncoming traffic in the southbound lanes. The car then hit the bus, which was traveling south.

Two people in the car were taken to a local hospital with what police said appeared to be serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

The only occupant of the bus was the driver. He was not injured.

Hightower said that the investigation is still ongoing, but police are not rushing to ticket the occupants of the car, if they are determined to be at fault.

“With them being in the hospital, it may be a while,” she said.

Police have not released the names of the bus driver or the people in the car.
