Quarles tabbed as Idaho's chief deputy superintendent

Roger Quarles, the former Caldwell School District superintendent who helped improve academic performance, has been hired as chief deputy superintendent at the Idaho Department of Education. He will oversee all educational programs at the department.

Quarles has served as co-director of the Idaho Leads Project at Boise State University, focusing on professional development in Idaho's public schools.

"Through his work in the Caldwell School District and at Boise State, Roger Quarles has demonstrated he is a leader of reform and innovation in Idaho with a proven track record of success," said Tom Luna, Idaho's superintendent of public instruction.
