Man struck by car in early morning incident

— A man apparently crossing the street on a red light was struck by a car early this morning at the intersection of Eighth and Front streets, according to the Boise Police Department.

The man, who was not publicly identified, was taken to a local hospital with what appeared to be life-threatening injuries, police said. No update on his condition has been provided.

The man was struck at about 1:13 a.m. Witnesses told police the driver of the car that struck the man was moving through the intersection on a green light. Police did not publicly identify the driver, either.

The Boise Police Crash Reconstruction Team was called to the scene to conduct a detailed investigation of the incident.

No charges have been filed, pending completion of the investigation.
