Additional parking available on Sunday for Barber Park floaters

newsroom@idahostatesman.comJuly 26, 2013

Overflow parking for Boise River floaters will be available Sunday near the Ada County Courthouse in the parking lot on the northwest corner of Third and Front streets.

To alleviate some of the parking congestion that can occur at Barber Park, Ada County is making the employee parking lot near the Courthouse available as an alternative parking location.

A shuttle will run from the overflow parking lot to Barber Park every hour on the hour between noon and 5 p.m. The shuttle bus will contain signage labeled Barber Park Shuttle. After floaters exit the river at Ann Morrison Park, the same shuttle will be available to take them back to the overflow parking lot at 20 minutes before the hour between 2:40 and 8:40 p.m. Parking in the overflow lot is free; however, the shuttle service will be $3 per person and must be paid in cash.

The traditional shuttle run will continue to be available between Barber and Ann Morrison parks at its regular times. Parking at Barber Park will still be available at $6 for the day on a first-come basis.

For more information on raft and tube rentals or shuttle services at Barber Park, visit the Epley’s Boise River Rentals website, the Barber Park website, or call the information line at 577-4584.
