Boise Hawks land eight on All-Star roster, then lose to Eugene

EUGENE, Ore. — Trae Santos lined a walk-off RBI single with two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning, lifting the Emeralds to a 5-4 win over the Hawks at PK Park.

Boise returns home Friday for a five-game series against Spokane. Rob Zastryzny gets the ball against Indians lefty Yohander Mendez.

Earlier Thursday, eight Hawks were named South Division All-Stars for the game Aug. 6 in Everett, Wash.

Catcher Lance Rymel, first baseman Jacob Rogers, second baseman Danny Lockhart and designated hitter Yasiel Balaguert will start for the South.

Boise outfielder Shawon Dunston Jr., utility David Bote and pitchers James Pugliese and Tyler Bremer made the team as reserves.
