Burglary suspect arrested after witnesses call cops

July 25, 2013

— A Boise man is in jail after witnesses told police they spotted him trying to break into two homes Wednesday night.

Matthew Jackson, 24, first aroused the neighborhood’s suspicions when several people saw him trying to pry open the back window of a home at West Overland Road and South Vista Avenue, police said.

The witnesses called 911. Meanwhile, Jackson, who was unable to get the window open, moved on to a second house, another witness told police.

The man made it into the garage of that home through a cracked door, police said.

Officers arrived on the scene as Jackson was walking away from the house. He was arrested and booked into Ada County Jail.

Jackson faces a felony burglary charge. He will be arraigned in court Thursday.
