Saint Alphonsus Trauma Center has been re-verified as a Level II Trauma Center by the verification review committee of the American College of Surgeons, recognizing the trauma center's dedication to providing optimal care for injured patients.

Michael Quist, of University of Idaho, has won the Excellence in Science Award for fiscal year 2012 from the U.S. Department of the Interior's Cooperative Research Units program.
