By the Numbers: Idaho employers limit full-time hiring

July 23, 2013

The latest Idaho unemployment data suggests that employers remain cautious about hiring.

The statewide unemployment rate rose 0.2 percent in June to 6.4 percent. Jobs increased 2.3 percent in the past year, but the workforce also grew. As a result, the jobless rate has stayed nearly flat over the past eight to 10 months. Many part-time workers say they can’t find full-time work. The data suggest businesses remain unsure about the economy’s future, the Idaho Department of Labor says.See a PDF of the statewide map.
