Crews extinguish salvage yard fire

Cars burn at a vehicle salvage yard off Interstate-84 near the Notus exit on Monday afternoon, backing up westbound traffic.

— A fire that broke out Monday afternoon at B&T Auto Salvage on Old Highway 30 near Caldwell has been extinguished.

A Canyon County Dispatcher said crews extinguished the blaze last night. Old Highway 30, which was blocked as crews fought the fire, has been reopened.

The fire burned multiple cars, but no one was injured.

Fire crews from Nampa, Caldwell, Middleton, Wilder, Parma, Star, Payette, Upper Deer Flat and Kuna, as well as a hazardous materials crew worked on the fire.

Canyon County fire crews were called to the scene at about 3:30 p.m. The cause of the blaze is still unknown.
