Two hurt after driving SUV into ditch, across creek

July 22, 2013

— Two people were injured in a Sunday afternoon crash when their SUV went off the road and into a barrow pit. Idaho State Police said 18-year-old driver Sarah Morgan and 21-year-old Tyler D. Morgan, both of Kennewick, Wash., were headed westbound on Interstate 84 near Sand Hollow when the crash happened.

Police said Sarah Morgan drove off the road, going across the shoulder and into the ditch. The SUV then crossed Sand Hollow Creek before coming to rest on the other side.

Both Morgans were taken by ambulance to Saint Alphonsus in Boise, police said. Sarah Morgan has since been released. Tyler Morgan remained in the intensive care unit Monday morning. He is listed in stable condition.

They were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash, police said. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
