Hawks complete three-game sweep of Hops

HILLSBORO, Ore. — Five pitchers combined on a four-hitter as Boise topped Hillsboro 5-1 before 2,757 fans at Hillsboro Ballpark.

The victory was the fifth in a row for Boise, and marked the first time since August 2012 that the Hawks have logged a road sweep. Loiger Padron got his second win of the season, tossing three shutout innings while striking out two.

Carlos Penalver went 2-for-4 in the victory, extending his hit streak to four. Boise returns home Thursday for a five-game series with Everett.
