Boise Hawks win debut game in new NWL stadium

HILLSBORO, Ore. - Justin Marra and Jose Dore homered and Duane Underwood picked up his first professional win as Boise extended its win streak to three by beating the Hillsboro Hops 7-4 in the opener of a three-game series.

The game attracted 2,525 fans at Hillsboro Ballpark, the newest stadium in the Northwest League.

Earlier Monday, the Hawks made a series of roster moves. Catcher Lance Rymel, pitchers Trey Masek and Carlos Martinez, shortstop Carlos Penalver and outfielder Yasiel Balaguert are back with the team after missing the Vancouver series.

The squad is adding three other pitchers: 15th-round pick Michael Wagner (University of San Diego) and a pair of players from Class-A Kane County in Eddie Orozco and Dillon Maples.

Four have been reassigned to the Mesa Cubs: pitchers Orbandy Rodriguez and Ethan Elias, infielder Jesse Hodges and outfielder Kevin Brown.
