Idaho colleges roundup: Australia, Boise State's Hadziomerovic to play for gold medal

KAZAN, Russia - Australia beat Serbia 65-62 on Monday and now faces host Russia on Tuesday in the gold medal showdown at the World University Games.

Boise State junior guard Igor Hadziomerovic played 21 minutes in Monday's win, scoring two points and adding three rebounds, a steal and an assist.

Hadziomerovic has averaged 13.8 minutes, 4.1 points and 3.0 rebounds per game in Australia's seven games.

Tuesday's championship will be broadcast at 11:30 a.m. MDT on ESPN3, and rebroadcast at 7 p.m. on ESPNU.

BENGALS PICKED LAST IN BIG SKY POLLS

PARK CITY, Utah - The Idaho State football team was picked 13th out of 13 teams in the Big Sky preseason media and coaches polls Monday.

Montana State was voted the preseason favorite in both polls.

The Bengals went 1-10 last season and 0-8 in Big Sky play. Linebacker Trevor Spence, an Aberdeen High graduate, was named to the all-conference preseason team. He led Idaho State with 90 tackles in 2012.
