Caldwell Mayor Garret Nancolas is recovering from surgery in a Boise hospital.

City Clerk Debbie Geyer said Nancolas had scheduled surgery on July 9 in Caldwell at West Valley Medical Center. He has since been transferred to Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise.

Geyer would not release details about Nancolas’ surgery or medical condition. She did not know when he would be released from the hospital.

“We miss him,” she said.

Per city code, Council President Jim Blacker has assumed Nancolas’ duties until he returns.

Nancolas has served as mayor since 1998.
