Five sent to hospital after Chinden wreck

July 13, 2013

Five people were injured Saturday afternoon following a three-vehicle wreck at the intersection of Chinden Boulevard and Meridian Road.

A sport utility vehicle heading east on Chinden struck a car stopped at the Meridian Road intersection at about 4:30 p.m. That vehicle hit another car in front of it, according to the Ada County Sheriff’s Office.

A man who was driving the first car that was struck was injured, along with the woman driving the SUV and three children inside that vehicle. All five were taken to a local hospital, but it was unclear Saturday night how seriously they were injured. The sheriff’s office did not release the names of anyone involved.

The vehicles sustained substantial damage, sheriff’s spokesman Patric Orr said in a written release. Chinden Boulevard between Meridian Road and Fox Run Way was closed for several hours as deputies reconstructed the crash and emergency crews cleaned up the debris.
