TRAFFIC ALERT: Lane restrictions on Overland Road through Friday night and beyond

July 12, 2013

— The Ada County Highway District is advising drivers to expect delays on Overland Road between Cloverdale and Five Mile roads through the Friday evening commute.

Earlier Friday, ACHD and water company crews, along with law enforcement, responded to a water main break in that section of Overland.

At about 4:45 p.m., ACHD reported that the water main break was under control. However, the road sustained significant damage. At the time of the report, the eastbound lanes were closed. However, officials said crews were working to open one lane in each direction to accommodate east and westbound traffic on Overland between Cloverdale and Five Mile.

ACHD suggests Franklin or Victory roads as east-west alternate routes.

Repair work on the road is expected to happen this weekend, and there could be lane restrictions through early next week.
