Icon Credit Union to open new Treasure Valley branch

Icon Credit Union will open its newest branch with an open house Tuesday, July 30.

Located near Eagle Road and Chinden Boulevard at 12598 W. Explorer Drive, the branch will be the Icon's fifth branch in the Treasure Valley. The credit union also has branches in Coeur d'Alene and La Grande, Oregon.

Icon will celebrate the opening with a ribbon cutting and open house starting at 11:30 a.m. featuring a Taste of Chinden lunch. The public is welcome to a free lunch prepared by nearby restaurants, including Lindy's Steak House, Willi B's Sandwich Saloon, Senor Fresh Mexican Eatery, Guido's Original New York Style Pizza, Top Wok, Sunshine Bagel Bakery and Dinner Thyme Solution, as well as coffee from Human Bean.

Seven Idaho Department of Highways employees started the credit union in 1952. Icon now has 16,000 members and holds $170 million in assets.
