Vancouver pitchers stymie Boise batters

VANCOUVER, B.C. - Two Canadians pitchers combined on a six-hit shutout as Vancouver defeated Boise 4-0 on Thursday night.

It was the second time this season the Hawks have been shut out.

The loss spoiled the first multihit nights for Trevor Gretzky and Cael Brockmeyer, who each went 2-for-3.

James Pugliese (2-2) took the loss after allowing two earned runs in four innings of relief.

Boise (12-15) has lost seven of its past eight games.
