Snip, smell and smile. That's the ritual this time of year for the delightfully fragrant tradition of you-pick lavender festivals on July 13 and 14. Free.

• Nampa's Lakeside Lavender Farm, 1003 W. Locust Lane, features yoga in the lavender fields at 8 a.m. before the festival officially starts, vendors, workshops on how to create, grow and cook with lavender, a lavender-laced lunch from Brick 29 Bistro, music and more than 1,500 plants to harvest. • At The Lavender Merchant, 2871 Stroebel Road in Kuna, you'll find arts and crafts, soaps and other gift items, lavender lemonade and more from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. July 13-14. TheLavenderMerchant.net. Free.

• Head out to Emmett to the Silver Fox Lavender Festival, 1825 Sunset Drive. You'll find acres of lavender to cut, plus lavender products to purchase, crafts to learn, vendors, a lavender lunch, sweet treats and more from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. July 13-14. SilverFoxLavender.com. Free.

• The lavender festival at River Ridge Farm, 907 Jackson Ave. in Emmett, will feature you-pick lavender, arts and crafts, food, drinks and music by SoulPatch. It's from 11 a.m.-9 p.m. July 13 and 11 a.m.-5 p.m. July 14. SoulPatch plays at 6 p.m. July 13. RiverRidgeLavender.blogspot.com. Free.
